Wasn't it at 36% back sometime in mid April-early June? I remember something went down (this presidency is too much I don't even remember what happened) and his approval plunged to 36% and his disapproval was at 61% or something near that figure.

Different polls have different results

The lowest I've seen is 33% and the highest recent one I've seen was 41%. So we know his true approval rating is about in the mid-30's which is just awful (but very deserved ).

I think that’s the lowest it’s reached in that particular poll. There was a Gallup poll last week where he was at like 33/34%.

They said it would be very very close. Polls can only do so much, but they can't predict who actually gets out and votes, only the likelihood of who will win. There's also the margin of error, which the margins were within, so really the polls showed it could have gone either way. And unfortunately the Democratic side didn't get out the vote as well as they should have and third party candidates got much more of the vote than the previous two presidential elections. It all was a perfect storm that allowed him to win. 

Anyway, another poll out earlier this week showed him at 33%

At this point, it's pretty much just the hardcore Republican base that approves him, and nothing is sure to change their minds now. They're in it for good pretty much no matter what he'll do. What that means is that unfortunately these numbers are not likely to go down much more. 

It's just the sad state of America right now and the reality of it.

The rule of thumb is that you can usually get 27% of people polled to say anything, so I'm assuming there's a 10% out there who have absolutely no clue what goes on outside of their neck of the woods.
