Fergie and Mental Health

In the music video for "A Little Work" Fergie hints about a struggle with mental health. Many news outlets and myself have wondered if this is really what she's referring to. Many of us have struggled with mental health issues, myself included. I really find it refreshing when artists open up about their mental health struggles. It honestly helps to know when you're dealing with your own because you feel less alone. 

In the music video Fergie states:

'I was seeing devils everywhere, devil faces' 

'Creatures that would appear to me would say "fly fly fly"'

"I would constantly be in this state of listening to the messages that all these characters and these demons or creatures, what they were going to tell me and what their messages were and what i was supposed to do"

"I was just gonna lose it. I was about to just start screaming at everybody on the street"

 

She then starts singing about meds and shrinks and the video shows her in a hospital.

The video also shows her in a straight jacket in a padded room 

 

So has Fergie ever elaborated on this, i've looked and can't see anything? It also seems like she's been a little unstable in her interviews. I just hope if she is struggling that she'll be okay.

i think it is about drugs, if not, then schizophrenia is my next suspect

Yes the video is about drugs. She has stated in past interviews with Oprah that she's lucky she survived. Drugs caused her depression and hallucinations. She almost went mad.
