Nope actually I thought that was kinda a desperate move .Gaga's team was not in their right mind letting her performing all songs kills some of the 'mystery' of the album. There's been two official singles and two promotional singles, next week's performance at GMA is a NEW SONG, hence 5 songs in total.

How is it not a common promo strategy when Lorde, Lana, Kesha, Demi, Miley, Kelly, Pink, Niall, Harry, 5H, Maroon 5 and other big name artists im forgetting did it these last few months alone?

You're trying to tie into the fact that she's underperforming with her prerelease hype this era to her releasing more promo singles, when that's simply not the case. When it doesn't even matter because everybody knows she will slay her first week 

She only released two promo singles so far, with a third and final one tomorrow. That's hardly getting "kind of desperate", especially when Red had much more hype and 5 promo singles.

I don't recall them releasing 5 songs before the album release but whatever suits your mind.

I never at once doubted her ability to achieve successful first week sales.

So far, she has 3 promotional singles, not including the song she's performing next week. RFI was a promo single before it was released as an official 2nd single. Red had 4 promotional singles and 3 of them were made into singles.

People assumed RFI is a single because of radio and the video, but it was never announced, and fans at the secret sessions said they heard the second single. 

Also the song she is releasing tomorrow is probably the song she's performing, and it doesn't even matter if she performs another one because the album will be out by then  

so keep trying

Just from the top of my head Maroon 5 did 4 tracks, Lorde did 4 tracks(she also performed more live before it was released), Katy did I believe 3 or 4 tracks I don't see this as desperate a lot of artists have been doing it as of lately

ARTPOP era says hello, it's very common practice to give us 3/4 songs before the album comes out

this one is dropping a day before the album so
