This is actually so sad. Media destroys everyone. What they did to Taylor is nothing compared to what they did with my poor Gaga :( but they are both strong and smart women :tony:

She may have less talent than them but neither Taylor or Gaga or Beyonce or Katy are ANYWHERE near 2000s Britney Spears media scrutiny, as she's only rivaled by Michael Jackson among pop stars.

(Provocative at age 10?)

And of course there is the Matt Lauer Dateline and Diane Sawyer Primetime interviews as well.

Taylor is responsible for every way that media, her peers and the public have torn her down. Instead of just keeping things casual (or at the very least, private) with the many men she's dated, she makes claims of being in love with them almost immediately, buys houses near them and writes bitter breakup songs about them when they inevitably break up around the 3 month mark, so the media and public rightfully paint her as a clingy bunnyboiler type. She could have just moved on from the Kanye stage interruption, but she wrote a song about it and kept on bringing it up to the point where the media and public again rightfully painted her as someone with massive grudges. Instead of accepting Katy Perry "stealing" her dancers (dancers changing the celebrity they work for is common in the pop world and if that KeyofAwesome parody was correct, they were Katy's dancers originally), she wrote a diss track about it, thereby creating a totally irrelevant feud. And finally, she chose to lie about how much she knew regarding the Famous lyrics, she even told Kanye she'd tell everyone she was in on it and then later tried to pretend she knew nothing whatsoever, not even a "he called me to ask me permission to reference me in the lyrics, but he didn't tell me anything about this one line, which offended me." If she'd said that, I would have actually been on her side. But no, she chose to completely lie about her involvement, in order to play the victim, which she's always done. Kim served the receipts, we found out the truth and the media and public quite rightfully labelled her a manipulative liar.

So, she really has no one to blame but herself for how she is portrayed. It's not even portrayal, it's truth. She's not angry because the world's got the wrong impression of her, she knows they're right. She just can't take it that the world is now seeing her for who she truly is, she's angry that the image, brand and empire she worked so hard to build is crumbling. I don't know how she still has any fanbase left after all this, to be honest. I don't know why anyone would want to support an artist who is clearly so arrogant and manipulative.

Blogs and twitter are personal accounts by the general public... the abuse came from the stans and lunatics... The reputable media sources did not mistreat Gaga other than report that the album had flopped.

The fans and Gaga herself then blew it out of proportions to justify the album under-performing, and try to make it like there was a crusade against her, when in fact there was just disinterest from the GP and attacks from the crazy stans.

There isn't ONE article from a reputable media source attacking Gaga to the level that the fans are making it out to be.

The abuse did come from them, yes, but the media did rejoice in calling Gaga a flop whenever they could. Remember that music critics are part of the media as well and so many media outlets that do album reviews were giving her lukewarm reception at best and almost completely focused on criticising her persona and image in the reviews, rather than providing a summary of the album's content and quality. It was shameful to the critic profession and it was unprofessional journalism. This is what a lot of critics do - they just follow the herd, both in public opinion and fellow critics opinion. You'll notice that albums with hugely popular singles preceding them will, 9 times out of 10, have positive reviews across the board but albums with underperforming/flopping singles preceding them will, 9 times out of 10, have mixed/negative reviews, unless they're some critically lauded pretentious indie-esque act. Critics just don't want to look like fools by looking like they're out of touch with the public's tastes. They can't be respected as critics in that case. This is partly why I decided not to pursue being a professional critic. It's a world of being paid to be positive and amending your views due to public pressure. What's the point of going back to university to get another degree just to be fake?

Ikr, "ruined" lmao. Gaga and Katy were pretty beaten at the beginning of ARTPOP and Witness. Swift fans have got to be the most insecure bunch.

At least it s not as huge as it was for gaga when ARTPOP "flopped". Like girl it was on the news it was BIG but since queen will snatch some grammy s next year, im happy :staymad:
