Conservatives plant pro-pedophilia posters among protestors

Last night, someone handed some Columbia Universities protesters a banner and asked them to unfurl it. The protesters, there to express their displeasure that Mike Cernovich, the far-right news figure, had been invited to give a talk by the Columbia University College Republicans, did as they were asked, and before they knew what had happened, they were touting a banner that read:

NO WHITE SUPREMACY
NO PEDO BASHING
NO MIKE CERNOVICH

As Jake Offenhartz recounts in a compelling write-up in the Gothamist, he snapped a photo of the sign and, in the hopes of preventing this stunt from gaining legs, tweeted out that it had been the work of counterdemonstrator tomfoolery:

If you think that that was the end of the story, you haven’t been following the far-right gonzosphere lately. Offenhartz writes:

In quick succession, Cernovich, [Jack] Posobiec and other Alt Right luminaries swiped my photo, sending their own tweets without any mention that the banner was planted. The image was removed from Cernovich’s Twitter once I reported the copyright infringement, though that only fueled the firestorm: Paul Joseph Watson, a writer at InfoWars, then claimed that Twitter was censoring the #NAMBLAANTIFA image. As of this writing, his censorship-alleging tweet has been shared over 12,000 times, and liked by 10,000 people — including Donald Trump Jr.

This is ****ing disgusting and makes me sick. There's enough wrong with leftist ideology and occasional extremism that you don't have to plant things for sensationalist headlines. I'm absolutely livid.

That's literally awful.

Watch people still tout that image unironically, even after the story is out.

I think you're missing the whole point. The progressives are the protesters who were fooled, and the RIGHT-wingers are the ones that handed them this banner to unfurl and take a picture so it looked like the progressives were supporting pedophilia. The people who support the "leftist ideology" as you put it, were there to protest an Alt-Right news figure.

I'm not missing the point whatsoever, you misunderstood me. I know the right wingers planted the posters as a means of making the left look bad. I'm saying the left is bad enough that you don't need to make up issues for headlines. It's disgusting that part of the right would sink that low.

Of course they wouldn't support pedo bashing. 90% of them are pedos anyway... so why would you expect them to hate pedos?

Alright, so you've effectively twisted the story to villify the left and say that inclusivity and equality are bad and that alt-right hate speech shouldn't be protested...

1. I twisted nothing, I rightfully called out the actions of the right as disgusting as it is morally wrong to do such a thing. I'm also saying it's counterproductive politically, that does not invalidate me thinking it's disgusting. The only reason I mentioned leftists was because I feel the actions taken by the right were unnecessary and it just goes to show how far they'll go to demonize the left even when it isn't topically true.

2. I never said inclusivity and equality are bad, that's one of the weakest strawmen I have ever seen.

3. I never so much as implied that "alt-right hate speech" shouldn't be protested. Another strawman. I have no idea what they're protesting, but that's not even the point. I never made any such implication. In fact, I made no mention of the protestors themselves or what they were protesting as I do not know.

Basically, you're upset at me mentioning leftists at all and frustrated at your misinterpretation of my post so you decided to make up things to argue with me. That doesn't seem very fair.

Ugh thats so gross.  To this day, it shocks me that an "organization" like NAMBLA can even exist but it has for decades and look who they are associating with. Shocking at how it isn't shocking.
