At no point in this entire thread did I excuse Kevin Spacey's behavior. I stated that it was a weird encounter and inappropriate, but not enough to label him as a child molestor and cancel his show.

What does "Rapp also states that he inferred Spacey was a homosexual simply because he saw a photo of him with his arm around another man. Let's be realistic here." have to do with Spacey's actions if they happened?

The allegations are out there and we'll just have to see what will happen.

And again, the show was already speculated to be ending with final filming starting a few weeks ago. At this point it's ridiculous for people to be upset about a show than allegations of sexual misconduct.

Punishing the show and other actors over what HE did?!?!?! Does Netflix want to be sued? :what:

I get what he did was bad, but that's extra... :wtf:

I don't watch the show, but can imagine the outrage of fans :awkney:

Read the article. The show was already presumed to be ending.

Also:

It's not like the show would've gone on for 20 seasons. The show was nearing it's end and these people on the show know all about the business. They know that any show that they're on could be canceled at anytime. They were lucky to be on a show that will last 6 seasons. They're professionals who will find work.

If you read the article, Rapp infers that Spacey's actions were blatantly sexual. Based on his account of what happened, I disagree. If I was in that situation, based on what he said occurred, I wouldn't have taken it as sexual at all.

And me calling out his photograph comment was simply me questioning his perception on things. If he thinks a man putting his arm around another man in a photo means that they must be gay, his perception of the rest of the events are called into question for me.

Is this funny to you? Because it's not. If you believe headlines you wouldn't understand that the article states that the final season was already presumed to had started filming.

I'm just going to repost my other response:

I don't think you realise how difficult it is for people who aren't big names to stay afloat in the entertainment industry - what you said is actually very insensitive and dismissive of people who WILL struggle :nails:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

Good point. I agree when you stated it that way.

As for the cancellation, we all know the answer. And this scandal may not have been the reason like everyone is stated it to be.

And can we all agree to the statement that a 14 yr old doesn't belong at a NYC party? Especially if it's running into the night at an apartment with alcohol...

Butthurt? Really?

So as long as crimes exist in the past, people are off the hook? Nazis, white supremacists, rapists, racists, etc. All off the hook because a crime happened years ago? Do we let loose criminals in prison after 30 years just because we shouldn't be "butthurt" over it anymore? These are serious allegations. And no one should take them as real or false at this point, but let's not start going crazy because a show got cancelled. You "modern life trend" thing isn't an issue. It's what happens when real life kicks in and people start making decisions.

There is a thing called statue of limitation, so yes, after a certain period of time crimes are forgotten in the eyes of the law... It doesn't apply in child molestation cases or rather it is prolonged in child molestation cases only if sufficient proof is provided - also this case doesn't classify as child molestation...

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

It's not. Because we all know how the business runs. You never have a full time job for life. There's a touch of reality. Also, the show was already presumed to be ending. Shows across all spectrums of entertainment get cancelled at any time. That's the entertainment industry. These people can't assume that job security will stay with them.

I'm not talking about law. I'm talking about the state of mind that the OP had stated.
