Omg yeees!!

I'm so glad that her team is submitting all these stuff right! The competition is obviously huge for the Oscars, but why not try it?

I love that its been submitted, but that doesn't mean anything. With money I could submit a video about my toe nails growing.

Fingers crossed it gets a nomination, its certainly better than Pinks.

I was just thinking this morning, that this would be a great time for Sam Smith to release a documentary of his own

If 'Gaga: Five Foot Two' gets nominated and wins(hypothetically), the oscar will most likely be awarded to Chris Moukarbel (Director) and possibly Bobby Campbell whose also credited as a main producer. I highly doubt Gaga would be credited due to her role in the project which she's already spoken about.

But if you think about it that's probably the best decision. Gaga's team are building her reputation by having her projects nominated so in the future she'll be well-known/received by academy members in hopes someday she'll win an oscar. Since Gaga is a pop superstar there's always a sense of bitterness due to the amount of success she's already achieved. She has to basically work 10x as hard to prove that she's worth anything of that calibre when compared alongside other actors/musicians.

I'm not deluded btw - just facts. ;)

Youre totally right, being thrown out there under the spotlight acting. Actors usually have years of flops before they become famous. Pop stars moving into acting aren't allowed that privilege.

Bjork worked her butt off for dancer in the dark and deserved the praise she got but that's a rarity.

It's so funny that she's credited as a producer when she explicitly stated that she had nothing to do with it. She hadn't even seen it by the time promotion had started :rip:

I mean I'm all for her receiving another Oscar nomination, but we all know she doesn't deserve it for this film lmao. I wonder if the Academy will take her statements into consideration? Remember when the Emmys didn't nominate her for TIHTY because they decided she wasn't involved enough?

What are even the odds that this documentary gets nominated? I'm not very optimistic about it.

If it actually gets a nomination, I agree with you. Gaga doesn't deserve it. But I want to believe she won't get nominated (hoping the doc gets it though).

Good but I don't think it will win or even have a nomination. It's a good movie but it's not revolutionary, exceptionally great or anything.

Yes I agree, I would be super surprised if it got a nom. It's a nice doc but it isn't really up to that calibre imo

Compared to some others ive seen this year its not the worst but most are better. The best musician one was the Whitney one. Watch 5f2 then the Whitney one theres a huge difference in quality and content.

I'm glad we got 5f2 OF COURSE!! but it actually wasn't half as good as most others this year. The narrative is more of a dvd tour extra. (a very good one) but not Oscar worthy.

Why exactly is it not as good as the others? Is it because the doc isn't informative, meaning its fly on the wall snapshots of her life and there isn't much explanation?
