Not really. It would be a bad now to react directly without trying to have dialogue. Germany is not a stupid nation, recognizing would make Spain mad and could lead to the destruction of the European Union. This conflict needs to be solved with diplomatically.

No major power will. It's not in their best interest.

This.  Especially the European powers; quite frankly I think they're scared(kinda rightfully so if you look at European history) of disturbing the status quo/balance of power at all.     :rip:

I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

Now it is officially proven I live in a flop country :saladga: . But for real, I recently saw some news where they said why it is a bad idea for Catalonia to be indepedent - they need something to export, a stable government, and so on, to even be qualified to be part of the EU. I don't think it should be forbidden, but from my perspective they need some time to establish all the needed infrastructure to be a valuable member of the EU and the Euro zone :awkney: .

Ew, David!

ugh Puidgemont is a bloody dictator, the referendum had barely a 43% turnout, even he recognises that, parliament 'unilaterally' voted for independence when more than half of it had boycotted the ballot. If turnout had been like 80%, and all MPs had voted too, then yeah, it's legitimate, whether Spain likes it or not. But this now, is just ridiculous and petty.

Spoiler

If this were the Middle East, Nato would call for invasion :sharon:

You know that IF Catalonia ever gets independent Spain will never let them in the EU?

Yes, I just wanted to outline the formal requirements for Catalonia to be part of the EU :stalkga:
