I’m going to start first: Some of you might say that it’s pathetic for someone to feel like a simple website is their “family”, but I disagree. I’m a fairly new user here, yet the community has made me feel welcome and I feel like it will support me anytime I need. In my school, I don’t have any friends, most people do not approve of homosexuality (therefore, making it harder for me to come out and accept myself) and I constantly feel like a loser. It’s different here though. Almost all of the time, you’ve made me feel like home. I have said multiple times now that I am gay and I can finally accept and express myself (at least online ). Remember that if you are going through a hard time, you could always reach us here and hopefully, we will make you feel better. I love and support all (almost ) of you guys! Honestly in my entire lifetime, no other fanbase has felt quite like that, regardless of the artist. This place can be like a family in a lot of ways, it's always been a place I've enjoyed. It's fun, funny, deep at times, messy and ya never know what's around the corner so it's rarely ever dull. Even though vast majority of my interests don’t always align with others, the people on this site never cease to amaze me and make me laugh. I think it’s great that people have a place to just come, talk, and laugh. And that's saying a ton given how everyone on the internet seems so cold hearted and rude. This community is definitely something else. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas. At school I don't talk to anyone because no one wants to be friends with the awkward nerd that has a bunch of health issues. I used to always envy the people at school who had a bunch of friends who they could talk to anything about and through GGD I've made friends that I used to dream about having. The friends that you talk to all day long about whatever you want and you can trust them with your life. So now when I sit in my corner at lunch it's like I'm not so alone because I have the most amazing friends in the world talking to me over the phone. It's amazing getting to talk to so many people around the world that you would've never met otherwise that have common interests to you.
