Fox Poll: Alabama Senate Race TIED

The Republican and Democratic candidates in the Alabama Senate special election are in a dead heat, according to a new Fox News poll.

GOP nominee Roy Moore is tied with Democrat Doug Jones in the race with 42 percent of the vote each, the poll found.

 

Eleven precent of respondents to the poll said they were unsure who they were supporting in the race and 3 percent responded “other.”

Moore is an antiestablishment Republican who defeated President Trump’s endorsed candidate Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.) to become the GOP nominee for the seat.

The poll also found that 42 percent of Moore’s supporters had some doubts about the candidate, while 48 percent said they strongly support him in the race.

Republicans were also less likely to support their nominee than Democrats were to support Jones, with 77 percent of GOP voters saying they’d back Moore. Eight-five percent of Democrats said the same for Jones.

He supports Healthcare as a human right, wants to increase EPA Regulations to tackle climate change, believes in equality, and criminal justice reform. He seems pretty progressive to me which is shocking for Alabama. Usually the Democrats from Southern states are Conservative Democrats

It's kind of unfortunate they such a great candidate is tied with such a cartoon character version of a Republican but yay nonetheless  Fingers crossed for Alabama to make the right choice

Jones’ other central focuses are the economy, education, the environment, and healthcare. While he is far from the progressive populist desired by the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democratic Party, Jones is still quite progressive for an Alabamian Senate candidate. He doesn’t support a single-payer healthcare system, but he does advocate for a public option, which is similar to the plan Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) is working on as a “transition to a single-payer system without a massive political fight.” Jones hasn’t endorsed a $15 minimum wage, but he says the minimum wage should be over $10. He doesn’t support tuition-free public college, but he does “support a program of public service in exchange for reduced college costs and full funding of Pell grants for students and additional research funding in the sciences and arts for the colleges themselves.”

Remember...he is running in Alabama, not Vermont.

I pray this goes the way it should go. This is a perfect literal example of the tug of war in Alabama. SO many are over the same old tired good old boys club and are ready to press forward! It's absolutely a positive sign to see the area waking up finally...there's still many things to do though from the ground up! But this can be a nice start! My fingers are crossed and I'm rooting Jones on.

Remember...he is running in Alabama, not Vermont. 

He seems progressive enough from ur description. I understand that not every candidate can be Bernie Sanders after all. The reason I asked tho is because there's a difference between not being Bernie and being a fake democrat.
