Joanne did 180K pure sales without any hit when was released first week

Witness did 62K pure sales with a #4 hit, when was released first week

It's PRETTY bad

Thank you!

and also...wow. I feel so bad for her, especially when recalling her breakdown when E.T. didn't hit #1 or something.

Can somebody explain to me what a tour bundle is as well as what SPS means

SPS= Sales plus (album equivalent) streams

Tour bundle= Buy a ticket to the tour, get the album

tour bundle means that with every ticket bought for her show, they get the album for free and it counts as a sale for the album

SPS means Sales Plus Streaming

How do they even allow that to count

Madonna is the first one to do it with MDNA (I think)

but it has become a trend lately with P!nk, Katy and Kesha doing it

Honestly, I think the real, non-tour bundle sales should be blasted as headline news everywhere. This is way too convenient a system not to be commented on. The deal should be that if you're going to do something that will seriously bolster your sales, you've got to be prepared for the big reveal of what your sales would've been without out, so the whole world can see the potential disparity. No one should be allowed to hide behind this system. It's appalling that it even counts towards charts, I'm so glad that Gaga has never done something this desperate (and I hope she doesn't in the future). I'd rather that all my sales were genuine rather than knowing a big chunk of them only sold because of a "get a free copy with a tour ticket" sale. We don't know for sure if all those buyers even liked the album when they got it. This is tied into why it's preposterous to have streaming account for so much. There's no way of proving if the person who streamed it actually liked the song, hence, they wouldn't have bought it, hence, it shouldn't be counted the same as a sale.
