girls, the reason Gaga goes to Epione is this:

Do injections in her face really help the rest of her body though? I would have thought that you would get it wherever the pain is the worst. I'm just curious because I don't know.

Hands up to the sky, I'm about to fly!

i wish she‘d stop with those treatments ... on the one hand, shes very vocal about self empowerment and self acceptance, on the other her face is nothing but self rejection ...

why?

By that logic then people shouldnt even shave.

Sorry but you got the whole message wrong

Women who do plastic surgery is NOT necessarily because they hate themselves. Can we stop with this MYTH?

who said they hated themselves?

self rejection is a psychoanalytical term. google it.

shaving is very different to reshaping your face. please dont generalize.

what message did i get wrong? care to explain?

on a side note: as soon as someone on this site disagrees with something gaga does, certain members become overly protective of her actions. stop. she doesnt need someone to defend her. at the end of the day, you're just defending yourself bc you 'use' her as your idol. its a very simple psychological thing. dont let it take away your kindness.

the facial injections she gets are cosmetic procedures. it might alleviate the stress of not feeling pretty enough, but otherwise there is no connection between the two. at least not in evidence-based medicine.

You know how they say if you sit in a barber shop long enough that you'll eventually get a haircut? It's the same in California with cosmetic procedures.

If you remember, Gaga used to travel to California with her "weird" fake tan and "crazy" wigs. She felt like a misunderstood New Yorker. However, she didn't conform and remained true to herself.

So now we're almost a decade in and Gaga has won a Golden Globe and been nominated for an Oscar. She's a star. She's the upper-class. I give her a break because standards in Hollywood are insane and she always wants to keep up. Who can blame her? I'd probably do the same.

true true true. i agree with you 100%. still, its like she got 'hollywood beverly hills upper class' tattooed on her forehead. there was something subversive about they way she looked and she lost that...

I was actually thinking about this recently like how does she go and get those fillers injected in her face and then you see people massaging her face when she's in pain, I mean wouldn't it be kind of weird? I mean I'm not really familiar with that stuff and idk what exactly those fillers do and what are they putting in there but I'm assuming it's natural since the body kind of breaks it down and it fades away but from a medical perspective wouldn't it be better if she stayed away from that stuff? Just curious. For all I care she can go Donatella if that's what she wants, my personal opinion is that she looks better either without it or with less of it, since I cant really tell.

I know what you mean but I think that "subversive" look was simply her New York/Italian physiology, which she still has. Give her a few drinks and she sounds like Marisa Tomei. I remember laughing my ass off once when I was worried that Hollywood had swallowed her, then received a Snapchat where she was at an A-lister party and in the most New York accent she slurred "should I be drinking on antibiotics?"  You can take the girl out of New York...

I don't know, I think she looks wonderful. I suffer from chronic pain and have heard about the benefits of her procedures. If it reduces her pain while she still gets to define her own beauty, I think we should celebrate it ^_^

BTW was about being the best you want to be as long as you do it for yourself and not to please others, not about respecting your body as it was born.

BTW actually has a very different message to what most people think it is.

Remember Zombie Boy? He wasn't born with those tattoos, but he was ultimately destined to have them and become Zombie Boy. Born This Way is about destiny, and becoming who you are and being completely unapologetic about your identity.

I'd argue it's about self acceptance. Are you accepting yourself if you feel the need to change your bone structure ? Its just curious to ask ourselves, okay, if we were  in her shoes to get a procedure  done... what would have motivated us to get there ? To the point where you change how  youlook. What comes up for me is feelings of insecurity, not feeling good enough as you are, caving in to external pressures and subscribing to validate them, etc. The one thing I do not stand by that Gaga does is this epione nonsense. But I understand it, and on a human level, if I had a lot of money and a lot of insecurities, I might change my face too
