So I just watched an interview from the Born This Way era and she was talking about the BTWB.

My question is: What's the difference between a tour and a ball?

She used to call her tours balls :poot:

Her previous tours were:

The Fame Ball Tour

Monster Ball Tour

Born This Way Ball tour

artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball tour

"Ball" is just a thing she put in the name for her tours

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

A ball means a gathering where people are supposed to dance. That's why she used that term, I guess.

I think it may have been a reference to Drag Ball culture. She has said in the past that she got a lot of inspiration from the drag scene in New York when she first started out.

Balls come from drag culture. It's a place where you go to perform and dance and what not. Gaga used them on her earlier tours so as to be indicative of what she wanted the show to be like: a safe place to be queer and free and dance your heart out.

They must be huge for her to call one of her shows “The Monster Ball” :laughga:

We don’t really need to talk too much, show each other what we know 🦋

I always assumed the "ball" meant, like, the ball in Cinderella, but Gaga's own twist on it as a concept. :duck:
