I saw that, but to be fair they are referring to their current eras. I believe both recent albums have similar sales, while Ariana has the hits and radio play. Of course, Joanne has been out less time, and her name carries far more weight and respect which should count for something. Ariana would never be approved of a documentary, she could never dream of headlining the Superbowl or Coachella (at best they would tack her on to Justin Timberlake or something), etc.
