This is the most ridiculous list. Madonna at 16? I don’t even like her and think that it is a travesty to put her that low. Where is Michael Jackson? Maroon 5 beating Gaga.

Yep this is definitely about charts.

It says on the page that it is only the last 25 years. Madonna and Michael Jackson had their best records before 1992.

That's because this list is the Biggest Artists on the Pop Songs Chart, which began in 1992 and is also called the Mainstream Top 40.

This is not the Hot 100 or the Billboard 200. This is only for the Pop Songs Chart which only includes airplay on pop stations and NOT sales or overall airplay.
