telephone born this way perfect illusion million reasons

You're wrong. MR saved the Joanne era, became her highest-peaking single since Applause, best selling single since DWUW and is a major Grammy contender. Literally everything you could ask for from a single. You're sooooooooo dead wrong.

Eh Eh didn't really need to be a single :/

if Judas was released a few weeks earlier or later it would've been okay  MTN needed to be released earlier too

SCHEISSEMONTRE

Judas (you know how this ended in :toofunny:)

Eh Eh (too bubblegum popp)

G.U.Y (just bad timing for the single and should’ve been a promotional single)

DWUW (just should’ve been solo with out "him")

Yoü and I because she's performed tf out of it already by that point AND if a single is supposed to sell you on an album, Yoü and I does not do that. It's just so different sonically.

You cut it and Judy's out of BTW singles and you get BTW, TEOG, MTN which is a very nice sonic progression actually indicative of the album. If she was itching for more after that she could dip into a song like HML. Yoü and I just sticks out so much that using it as album promotional is odd.

Of note, I really like the song.

Mister Gaga

Y'all saying DWUW and G.U.Y. because they didn't do well on the charts. They're great single choices imo.

Judas, however, is not. Maybe not in that date (easters). It should have been the third single, or promo single with video.

Perfect Illusion is her worst lead by far, horrible choice, A-YO should have been the lead.

John Wayne wasn't a single but I think Diamond Heart should have received the promo JW did have.

Judas, PI, G.U.Y.
Judas is a smash and has one of her best videos. But singing i'm in love with judas baby while portraying a biblical story in her video is not the smartest idea for an single when many people are religous and will be offended for anything+ the song was leaked on easter, a very religous holiday. Diffrent lyrics but keeping the structure and prodcution of the song and it would smash.

PI didn't really showed what the album were going to be about and an song like A-YO or DH i think would been better fit as a lead single. PI can sound annoying if you not into the sound with it's repetitave lyrics and hard hiting production/voice. It was not the best choice for an comeback single after a 3 year break from pop music and should been an album track only. The could also gone with MR as lead since i think it would had smashed anyway but i think it worked best as 2nd single.

G.U.Y i don't think was the choice to go with as 3rd single from ARTPOP when the era was pretty much already dead and gaga didn't do much for the song except the video. G.U.Y could have worked as an eariler single or if she had some smashes before it but it wasn' the right time fore the song. I think they should have gone with something more radio freindly like Gypsy or MANiCURE.

This.

Although I think Judas should've been replaced with Scheiße, since it's the better of the weird Redone tracks and she seems to favor it.

Idk why they chose PI over AYO or DH.

Ill be one of the few to say that DWUW was a bad choice since anything with R Kelly is not okay. It did okay but she really promoted it everywhere for a while. I think had Venus stuck as the original second single Gaga would've been in a happier place mentally. And Gypsy/MANiCURE should've been the third single tbh.

I dont think for the most part it was the singles themselves but more of the timing. Her team has had odd timing these last few years :toofunny:

I would also have to say Judas. I really like this song, but at a time when it was all about chart positions, this was too risky. No radio station played the song because of its lyrical content, so as a result it charted very low at a time when Gaga and the media cared a lot about chart performances. Also it felt like an attempt to recreate the Madonna/Like a prayer controversy, which was quite unfortunate after the BTW/Express Yourself drama.

GUY is a bad song and shouldn't have been a single

Born this Way and G.U.Y. Marry the Night would’ve been a better lead, followed by Sheiße. For ARTPOP, G.U.Y. was far too safe.
