I consider myself a right leaning libertarian. And yeah, I'm dating a Trump supporter.

I consider freedom of speech valuable even if it's wrong to say. Only if it threatens violence should it be banned. Maybe this law should remain in place until the 100th anniversary and end, honestly. I hate conspiracies more than almost anybody I know, and even I think this is a bit far for an 88 year old woman. She's crazy and wrong, but not jailable imo.

She is doing that for the past decades and is spreading her ideology. Her age doesn’t matter, she is against the law

didn’t get the comment as meaning specifically members on this page.

That ITT abbreviation meant “In This Thread”. So it was about members here. But anyway...

we should get back on topic.

I didn’t got the comment as meaning specifically members on this page. But I have seen enough leftists who are including Jewish opression in the diaspora only when it’s fitting to them while say in th next sentence that ashkenazi Jews are evil oppressors.

This is exactly what I mean and what my intentions were.

I just happen to value freedom of speech :nails: and not that watered-down continental version.

There are reasonable restrictions a society has to put its foot down for.

Eg.) you can’t yell fire in a crowded theater

Eg.) you can spend pro-Nazi propaganda to instigate the rise of the Third Reich and start another holocaust

Simple as that.

I don’t know why I spend my time replying to an anarchist.

There is no sympathy on my part towards anyone. Being able to find qualities in bad people doesn't equate to sympathy. Surrender, for example, is a noble action. If the most evil person in the world realizes the atrocities of their actions and decides to surrender, then this is a Noble action. It doesn't mean sympathizing with them. It has nothing to do with what I think of their past actions. Seeing the mistake of your ways and having the strength to own up to it is Noble, regardless of whether you're evil or not. The same happens with standing by what you believe in. She's wrong, she has dangerous beliefs, and she should be punished for her behavior, but it doesn't take away the fact that it's very noble of her to stand up for what she believes in, regardless of the consequences.

I understand GGD is not the place to have these conversations, though. People don't really understand most of what they read, it's just not interesting to talk about these things.

They didn’t realize their actions were evil, they realized they were gonna lose and be slaughtered

Propoganda is not a belief, it’s a lie. It’s not noble to lie to people. She KNOWS it’s a lie, she was alive during the holocaust and working for the Nazis. She knows she’s lying. That’s not noble.

That’s called being an anarchist, sweetie, and that makes so much sense hahaha :ladyhaha:

Spreading pro-Nazi propoganda to try to instigate another ethic clensing DOES present a clear and present danger to German Jews

Youre literally making the argument that Nazis are harmless

No, what happened to the Jews in ww2 was sad and tragic by all means, and I believe it happened.

But I won’t sit here criticizing dictatorships countries law when this is basically the same mentality but different conversation.

And if you believe jailing this old woman is right then that conflicts with “liberal” ideology and you’re a hypocrite. Period.

1996 actually.

you actually think it’s okay to deny the holocaust? :what:

Nazi's are not harmless and it's mind blowing and saddening to think that LGBT members of this forum don't understand that considering how many of us died in the holocaust

Nazism is not harmless

In Germany, specifically? Is there something special about Germans? Holocaust denial isn't a crime in the British Commonwealth and we do okay.

Yeah...the Holocaust occurred there, not in BC. That's what makes it different from where you live.

I don't agree with them either, but I'm not passing judgment like you. If you don't agree with someone, that doesn't mean you should behave like an ass to them. Instead, try to have a civil conversation like most people in this thread.

The irony of you being disappointed by GGD members' behaviors :toofunny:

But this is civil? I'm sorry I'm not kissing your ass but you're in no position to be on a soap box either.

She got jailed for a reason, just saying.

Jailed for denying historical facts... :rip:
