But keep in mind if you take out tour bundles, its probably more like 280-300k. Which is still higher than Gaga, but the fact is Gaga really fell off in 2013 and hasn't been relevant to the pop scene since then. She is still in process of gaining back her standing. Joanne was another step in the right direction. If she continues on this path, I believe she will be back in that upper tier. Currently, most people would say the food chain is: Adele, Swift, beyonce/Rihanna, Pink, Lady Gaga, the rest Back in 2013-2015 it was Adele, Swift, Bey/Rih, Katy Perry, Pink, Miley, Sia, insert like 3 other basic pop girls, then Gaga. I definitely understand Shania doing it, even Katy, but Pink? Her lead single's doing better than Gaga's did and she never did tour bundles. Was her team this concerned that her big break from the public would have resulted in little interest? I really appreciate the fact that Gaga doesn't do this, so you know all her first week sales are genuine. It just seems like everyone's cheating their way to better sales now.
