holy scheisse

1. Marry the Night.

The manifesto for the album shows Gaga deciding to get back up again and carry on, exploding into chaos at the end. The church bells and the harsh synths represent Born this Way as an album quite succinctly.

2. Scheisse

Gaga's feminist anthem with a fabulous club beat behind it. The verses express strength while the chorus expresses hopeless insecurity making it a great juxtaposition. The fake German is open to interpretation making it a piece of art.

3. The Edge of Glory

Iconic and masterful song with so much power behind it. The strongest single released from the album and really embodies her Bruce Springsteen vibe inspiration for the album.

4. You & I

One of Gaga's first forays into country-rock infused music before the iconic Joanne™ era of the present. One of her best ballads yet and a timeless, universally loved song in general.

5. Bloody Mary

With a dark, gothic vibe and drenched with religious imagery, this deep cut track stands out as melodically and lyrically fascinating. A quintessential song from the album that ends with Gaga crying out in despair.

Special mention to: Born This Way, Heavy Metal Lover, and Black Jesus | Amen Fashion
