You've merely described the club lifestyle, not the gay lifestyle. Just because you and your gay friends' lives are "extraordinarily promiscuous and drug-fueled" does not mean it's true of the average gay man. If you include alcohol as a drug, then roughly half of my coworkers fit what you've described; all but one of whom are straight I might add. We don't call their lifestyle dangerous, we even have a name for these people: thots. At any rate, promiscuity is not wrong or immoral. What is immoral is not education our youth about sex and and the importance of protection. Everything I've learned about safe sex has come from conversations with my doctor (only after she was concerned that my proctalgia might have been caused by rectal fissures) and the internet. And I don't know about you. But neither I, my boyfriend, and none of my gay friends live a "dug-fueled lifestyle", that's not a gay issue, that's a social issue that affects far more people than just us. I've learned it's just as easy to go on Kik or Tinder or go to a college party as it is to hop on grindr. In fact, in a study posted by the dating website, OkCupid, it was found that their gay and straight users pretty much had the same amount of sex. You're gonna get a lot of flack now despite being tagged but let's break some of this down. "Trump did not speak here condemning homosexuality" He did however attend a meeting which is infamous for its stance against homosexuality and to the extent that it handed out brochures containing misinformed information demonising the homosexual lifestyle. Yet if you download Tinder it's going to be the same. However this is largely because homosexuals have had to retreat to an 'area' to meet people because let's be honest it's still heavily taboo and meeting in typical social settings aren't frequent. Grindr should take more measures to ensure safety, not really a gay problem here. This is also not of all gay men, it's a pretty hollow generalisation. It is not necessarily gay men that have more STD's. The brochure keeps stating "gay" activities but it's simply the act of anal sex that carries one of the highest risks of transmission to due the membrane being fragile and susceptible to tears. Anyone can have anal sex, not just gay men. On average more homosexual men use condoms than hetero, visit the clinic more for testing (meaning more results recorded) yet have very little sex education in schools. So whilst gay men are more likely to be exposed to STD's you have to wonder where the problem lies? Society and education have a lot to answer for. The brochure cleverly positions itself as an enemy of the gays as something that needs to be tamed, not as a critic of the social, educational and moral influence leading to such rise in STD's. There's striking undertones to it that I find it difficult to believe you cannot notice? Even the sub-heading is "Why should we be concerned about homosexuality?" and not "Why should we be concerned with the rise of STD's?". It's stance is dramatically against homosexuality and this has been known even before Trump took his attendance. This is only the front and back of the brochure, the part that is used to SELL the product. Just wanted to add to what everyone else already said that, for the 100th time, there's nothing wrong with promiscuity and sex - problems arise due to lack of education in regards to sex and safety...
