Melech 9,900
"The Chancellor has risked opening a major rift with Europe after describing Brussels as "the enemy" in the Brexit negotiations. Philip Hammond told Sky News that he understood emotions in the Government were running high, but urged his colleagues to stop squabbling and focus on the Brexit talks. He said: "My message is this: I understand that passions are high and I understand that people have very strong views about this but we're all going to the same place, we all have the same agenda. "The enemy, the opponents are out there, they're on the other side of the negotiating table. Those are the people we have to negotiate with, negotiate hard to get the very best deal for Britain." http://news.sky.com/story/philip-hammond-calls-europe-the-enemy-in-brexit-talks-11078987 ok sis

Because the moderate left can't get their sh*t straight and put forward a candidate who doesn't look like they have no spine next to Teresa May (which btw, is quite a feat if you've actually had the misfortune of watching Teresa May talk - you'd think that upstaging her would be a piece of cake)... Anyway, because of that the Tories rule and they are not smart people... OT: ... just... It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! To be fair, nationalism was always there more or less - European countries are very diverse... I guess it's just surprising to see the government of one of the more powerful and progressive *cough* countries act like spoiled children It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! Benji 20,113
In context with the rest of the speech, it's clear it's a metaphor. I'll let you go look it up @Melech.
