to be fair, lorde is way more deserving of artist of the year and thats a FACT :saladga:

i get that this year has been a highlight for men but that doesn't mean none of the women in music aren't worthy of awards

true but the awards go with whos the most popular right now.

This is what confused the **** out of me.

Like, I would get it if no "major" female artists released any good releases (e.g. Witness please don't come for me. I just don't think it was impactful enough even though the music was good).

But literally LORDE, GAGA, HALSEY. These three are pretty big in their own right, and ESPECIALLY Lorde since Melodrama was critically acclaimed.

I wonder if the AMAs are doing it for relevancy or something.

Because the nominations are WAAAY too bizarre.

JOANNE will get the credit she deserves at the Grammys. :hor:

But 10 years ago when women ruled pop music, did men ever say they deserved more recognition than they received? :oprah:

Hopefully more people notice this so the Grammys try to avoid the same mistake.

Also if its based on Neilson data, is Drake really one of the artist of the year? He didn't sell that much and Passionfruit wasn't some huge hit. And why is Rihanna and Beyonce in R&B? What did they do THIS year? Shouldn't Sza be there?
