Soundscan reported around 1.5 million SPS (I don't remember exact numbers) units quite some time ago. Well nowadays it means album equivalents which are Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) so most platinum albums these days don't actually sell 1 million in pure sales but in units that also include streaming numbers that equate to "albums".
