Do you actually think that both groups do the same thing? The groups were created under super traditional gender roles back when society liked to separate everything. Does it really matter that much to you? Not long ago the Boy Scouts didn't let gay people into their ranks. I'd say that this is a move in the right direction. And who's priorities are these? or even the ones who made this decision? Not millennials. Lighten up.

Well for god's sake that's not the point. If it's the total opposite would you be sitting here saying the same thing?

Trans and gender nonconforming kids have been allowed to join Girl Scouts for years. That's why Boy Scouts is making this move. Girl Scouts is seen as the progressive, liberal organization and conservative parents don't want their girls involved with it. So Boy Scouts, a conservative and religious organization, are opening up their ranks to the female children of conservative parents who don't want their girls joining the "lesbian training camp" (actual quote from my friend's conservative preacher dad) Girl Scouts.

It really just depends on your troop. My mom led our Girl Scout troop as a kid and we were awesome. We did anything we wanted to do. The girls all voted on how to spend our cookie money. We camped, we went whitewater rafting and horseback riding and rock climbing and backpacking and learned survival techniques. We also did a glam night at the fanciest hotel in town, learned about makeup and fashion, made our own clothes, had spa days, and made our own silly sexy queer costumes to go to our first live Rocky Horror Picture Show. If your troop "didn't do anything but sell cookies" then your troop leader/friend's mom sucked lol.
