there's a little more to the story

it's a concept that has unfortunatly been taken as racist and blown out of proportion to make it look like it goes from black to white, when it's not even in that order and they just intended girls with shirts that match their skin tone to take them off in turn

This is still poorly done and they're most likely using outrage for marketing.

Them apologizing doesn't make it any better.

The full ad doesn't look wrong, but if you put screencaps like that it looks like a 'before-after using dove' :poot:

it is a poor concept but the racism is a mild reach imo, unlike in the past where they've implied darker skin tones are not normal

The execution of the ad was done poorly, but I get the concept. They were trying to say that Dove soap is great for anyone no matter who they are.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

i wouldn't say it was that bad, you'd have to go looking for the racism to find it in the advert and it's been heavily twisted but i'm not saying this and previous adverts were totally innocent, controversy sells :poot:

TEETHTEETH

Even in full, it's a bad concept. Very reminiscing of something that has been done before. Not trying to blow anything out of proportion, but couldn't they see this coming??
