Miel 15,009 Posted October 8, 2017 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Episode 5.7 (Flicker) was such a turning point for the season, and for how they characterized The Countess herself. It's one of those one-off episodes that don't really match the rest of the season, but is heightened by that emphasis (The Name Game, Orphans)- it was funny, expositional, and very fleshed out. I'm pretty sure it was this episode that the writing highlighted The Countess' ice queen exterior facade, and how it started to melt. Gaga really impressed me tbh- from this episode on, she proved that she can really do more than glamour camp, with the final dinner scene in particular highlighting all the character nuances. And the way she speaks when she asks that. It is so sweet how much they love each other. And when she finds the corpse of her dead lover, and cries over it.
