The Edge Of Glory should have been the lead of BTW.

Born This Way was destined to be the lead single. No matter how many conversations that has been had in the last six years, there's no doubt that song was meant to spearhead not just the album, but an overall moment in pop music and culture.

But I would have loved it, or MTN, as second single.

Ok but how is TEOG more similar to TFM than BTW :cryga:

Sis...

The most similar single to TFM was Judas and we know how that fared :bon:

(*some crusty ass fan voice* B-BUT JUDAS WAS A HIT IN FRANCE)

Gaga was on the right track (baby she was born this way :poot:) with MTN as a lead single, but Interscope as always made a stupid decision.

I mean, Interscope's decisions were on point TF and the beggining of TFM. But when they cut the TFM era at the 3rd single it all went downhill :madge:

I think the importance behind BTW as a lead is not something to be overlooked. For her career, this said she was ballsy enough to mention gay, trans, bi, and lesbians in the lead single from her album from a lady at the top of her game. It gave her cred. I think TEOG should have been second because it could have made the hype around the album even larger. BTW was big but as a song is inferior to TEOG so I think the upward momentum to the album launch would have been amazing for her and BTW (album).

We also need to remember It was fuc*ing judas that ruined the era.. as much fun as the song is.. why the hell they thought it was a good idea? Smh

TEOG as the lead would've been song of the year.

But I don't think BTW would've taken off it it wasn't the lead. She kinda needed to make that song the lead tbh.

However I think Judas shouldn't have happened even though the video is amazing.

1. Born This Way

2. The Edge of Glory

3. Marry The Night

4. Scheiße

5. Yoü & I

I never liked her avant garde weird fashion styles. I also didn't like her sometimes over produced pop or all that (besides The Fame which is a pretty fun album). I never appreciated or liked her until I saw her at the 2015 Oscars and picked up C2C that day. The only songs I listen to from her TFM-BTW-AP eras are Scheiße and Aura (with the occasional Alejandro every month or so). She excels when doing stripped down or jazz/classical stuff.

Mister Gaga

I don't think so. It would have done great as 2nd single; the problem was Judas, not Born This Way (which performed great as lead single, and the GP liked it).

The first 3 singles off BTW were perfect- after that it's hard to see if it should've gone a different route

the only reason Judas doesn't make it on little manager's lists was because it underperformed, had it never been released everyone would be fuming because it deserves a video

TEOG did great, could've switched it with BTW as the first single, but it doesn't make sense to release a song that will do well at any stage as the first single

But the whole thing started at the VMAs. BTW was obviously going to be the first single. But I agree. TEOG is my favorite song from her up until she released Joanne. It would've smashed
