Why did it take so long to tour BTW?

It didn't take long, she could have been overexposed!

She was overexposed tho. No one wanted to see her face anymore, that’s a big part of why ARTPOP flopped.

I was certainly tired of her after all that promo. I didn't really become a Gaga fan until C2C and the 2015 Oscars, and back during that entire TFM/BTW promo (2009-2012) I just got sick of her and her avant garde and insane outfits. Just wanted to state what I felt at the time.

Demand probably. Since TMB lasted right up until release, she couldn't reasonably tour earlier without it affecting ticket sales. That, and the extensive promo was probably playing a role as well. I mean, she was *everywhere* with promo and then I imagine it took awhile to construct everything. TBTWB was far and away her most elaborate tour. Castle construction aside, she had to get lighting, costumes, choreography, setlists, storylines and all that decided upon. The main reason, though, is TMB, I think. It running so late probably left her a bit drained tbh and so even going into whirlwind promo like that right after for the album, she probably needed time to rest. Thinking about it, I can see why she was so exhausted and felt used. Girl was booking it for years and TBTWB was by far the apex of all that effort with its intricacies and complexities, not to mention its sheer ambition with how big of a tour it was.

One thing that I noticed is towards the end of The Monster Ball 2.0, Gaga started to look very tired. At first I thought that she wasn't into the tour as much as she was early on, but now it seems like something else was up.

Oh yeah she looked freakin BEAT. Like, she still looked to be having the time of her life, but she looked absolutely exhausted behind the joy

Yeah. She was also singing the harmony on songs like BDR instead of the main melody. (Although, this might be because of a change in singing style.)

Tokyo Rose

BTW had an actual era with actual singles. :giggle:

AP and Joanne flew through singles and burned out quick.
