The pigs in the WH would rather keep getting buttf*cked by the NRA than keep people safe. I have no hope left for America.

Literally what is ANYONE's problem with increased security and background checks?

This is the doing of the NRA and its members. They're really choosing the profits of gun manufacturers over the safety of Americans & everyone on our soil.

Actually gun manufacturers had much higher profits under Obama. Their goal doesn't have to do with profit.

What is it then? Paranoia? No one is forcing guns away - only advocating for increased background checks. Is convenience more important than all the people dying? I don't care if rates have fallen - it's still too much to not care.

Uh, that's not true. There is plenty of proposed legislation that covers much more than increased background checks.

Obama has nothing to do with this. What I meant was the NRA & its lobbying of Congress to stop gun control measures, which was overwhelmingly received by Republicans, who, coincidentally, have the majority in both houses.

It's not just the NRA, everyone seems to think the NRA is responsible for everything. If those Republicans don't support gun rights, they get voted out of office. :rip:

I agree, it also falls on voters that think that they should have access to military-grade weapons, like the ones (probably) used in Las Vegas.

No military weapons were confirmed to be used, yet. The news mentioned Daniel Defense, FN, and Sig Sauer. Pictures clearly show a civilian sporting rifle:

Military weapons don't use Slide Fire bump-fire stocks.

I don't know what "military-grade" means here, usually that refers to the type of materials used in the manufacturing.

The question is whether or not people at a country music festival would agree to talk about gun control. Honestly, I doubt they'd be willing to.

This whole issue would probably be forwarded a lot faster if people realized that the debate isn't about guns but about American values. One value that many Americans hold very dearly is the opportunity to overthrow a tyrannical government and individualism. The gun debate is a threat to said ability to control the government if it begins to work against the people and when you have fear mongering propaganda from Fox News and an education system that only teaches children about the glory of the American revolution for 6 years straight while neglecting world history then, yeah, this is what happens. At the very cornerstone of American culture is "freedom" and it is a commonly held belief that America is the "freest" nation on Earth (according to what we've been taught). As such, we very arrogantly see ourselves as defenders of freedom. So gun legislation, to those who are against it, is really an attack on one of the core values of American life. It's not a logical debate like dems and liberals paint it to be; if it were then there would be no debate at all. It's an emotional debate on the part of conservatives, and the disconnect between both sides of the debate is why it isn't going anywhere. No one is thinking on the same terms, facts look different to one side vs. the other, etc.

President Trump

I just find it sad that probably a majority of the people who died at that concert were strong supporters of the second amendment and would fall on that side of the line, and the Democrats are using their deaths to make a claim for gun control.
