That J 12,166 Posted September 29, 2017 Share Posted September 29, 2017 I watched it and came away unimpressed. To me, it could've been any other episode in the later seasons. Ya know how a show becomes kinda whatever after it's golden years? That's what this episode felt like. Every character is exactly the same, nothing has been elevated, the jokes were been there done that. Hopefully it will improve in future episodes. Idk if I'll watch or not. I suppose that's how a reboot of a sitcom should be. I'm not sure. I expected more and basically got a rerun. I'll wait for ROSEANNE to, hopefully, show em how to call it a comeback. EDIT: Also I felt the gay jokes or whatever no longer have the POW they had back then. Great news for how far we've come. Bad news for a show dependent on it. I prefer it when characters stay in character and don't have changing personalities when the writer's see fit. I like character development, but character development needs to happen slowly overtime. Plus I don't think they'd want to start the new season with a complete change in one of the best character, who is, undoubtedly, probably going to carry the series. That's why it was so political, and it was also obviously done to get as many people to talk about the show as possible. It opened with a bang and I am very happy, I can't wait for the next episodes, I never thought the show would come back, it's a little dream come true for me!
