StrawberryBlond 14,849
I understand the cultural difference but she could have responded a bit better than that. Just say something like: "I'm sorry, I didn't think this was going to be a silly interview. Could you ask me more about my music instead?" There was absolutely no need to say "I know British people and they don't speak like that." I mean, to say that in their country! There is definitely a difference between British and American humour. We are very self-depracating and immature toilet jokes reign supreme at our most silliest. Just look up any of our comedians. There's always a gross-out joke involving toilets somewhere in there. Nevertheless, I think the toilet question was a bit out of line but she just could have said she doesn't feel comfortable with answering it. Another thing that gets me about American celebrities is that they're not used to being made fun of, unless it's in a way that they're comfortable with. They don't like to be made to feel like they're untalented or that they've ever produced any work they're not proud of. You'll notice how British talk shows are so much more casual and personal than American interviews and everyone's on the same level. You're not treated like a god here. And I think the shock of that is a bit much for certain big names when they come here. It can also work in reverse, too. Cara Delevingne did an infamous phone-in interview for Good Day Sacramento 2 years ago and they were just so rude with their questioning and even had the nerve at the end to say she was the one being snarky when she went off-air! I just don't think they understood her British sense of humour, dry wit and sarcasm. Although, maybe if it was a British guy, they would have reacted better. If females aren't always peppy all the time, interviewers have a habit of labelling them as divas whereas they treat men with a bit more respect. 9 hours ago, Creativek said: Talking about anything on the toilet is a huge taboo for many people in America. Sorry, this bit made me laugh so much! 3 hours ago, GypsyBabe said: A friend of mine who did security for her when she came to my city said she was a really mean person too. Throwing temper tantrums and all. One story he told me was that she walked into a restaurant on a busy Saturday night and told the manager that she wanted him to kick everyone out because she wanted to eat there with her friends. When he said no she freaked out, and started with the whole “do you know who I am?” stuff and threw a fit. Told him that she would blast his restaurant so badly that they would have to close. Seriously? I wouldn't put it past her, but wow. The story about the restaurant, though - how did he know about that if he just works as security on tour? But no matter, that account reminded me of a very similar incident involving Xtina back in the day. She walked into this bar and Westlife were sitting around the bar and she asked them to be removed so she could sit there. They publicly called her a "snot" in interview afterwards because of it. They were probably one of the very first celebs to diss her for her now infamous attitude, this was way back in 1999/2000. I mean, I could understand that untouchable attitude back then, but not now. It's crazy to think some celebrities still think this is a reasonable way to act in 2017. I thought the likes of Adele, Ed Sheeran, etc. made it popular to be a super-normal celebrity. Demanding that a manager evacuate their restaurant so you and your friends can eat there simply doesn't fly these days. She'd be really put in her place if she did that at one of Gordon Ramsey's eateries!

So for concerts and other things. He also fills in for other guards etc. He's met them all. I found the story absolutely hilarious. Its clear that she isn't from Mass, because that attitude is not tolerated here. His favorite person to work for is Willie Nelson. He introduced himself the first time and Nelson asked him if he wanted a blunt. ⚯͛

Qualle1 1,385
I also wouldn't answer these stupid questions and probably end the interview. This thread and the ongoing bashing of Taylor Swift and other female popstars on this site is so annoying... MAKE LOVE NOT WAR
Oivind 287
Who cares? Maybe Taylor Swift is a bitch, maybe she's a saint. We will never know for sure, and I don't care. I care about her music.

It's disrespectful to ask someone that no matter which country you're in.
JohnnyVersace 8,996
Tbh as an artist I'd be offended by those questions as well. It's like when people used to ask Gaga dumb **** all the time and she had to clap back.
TimisaMonster 31,073
Yes Taylor is the definition of a mean girl and she, Justin, Azealia, and Madonna all get along really well Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
samuelx 1,309
Idk I can relate to how she feels. If I came into that situation I would probably be annoyed that I wasn't told previously the nature of the interview.
Mythos 3,199
So, if she doesn't answer some dumb question, she is taking her self to serious and she is like a real bitch?

I wouldn't even care if this was a "funny" or "silly" interview. This just sounds rude and awful. Maybe she didn't know that this was the tone of the interview, but even if it was it's just stupid. Maybe I'm sensitive today but I would totally be mad if I was her in that situation.
Raikov 183
Honestly as a fan I hate it when interviewers waste a precious opportunity to talk to someone and have them reveal details about their craft or life or, you know, THE NEXT ALBUM, and instead ask the same questions every other mediocre interviewer has asked OR asks about some pointless mundane nonsense instead. I imagine it bothers artists too. The cat question falls under uninteresting mundane nonsense (not even funny enough to make up for it) and the toilet one, while funny, is simply a risky question to ask for many people. I understand her being impatient with this; if this was a kid magazine she probably expected the typical Tiger Beat questions and was doing routine promo. Also, I'm disinclined to take these stories seriously when they exist for every celebrity. Seriously. Everyone and their mother has some unverified story about how a celebrity was mean to them one time and hatedoms glom onto these incidents (which are once again unverifiable) to pass moral judgment on someone whom we can never know, for better or worse. The reality is there are probably a hundred interviews where Taylor was a normal human being, and like all of us, she had a day where she was not feeling it and snapped disproportionately (the questions were silly but her response was extra and she should have behaved more professionally). The difference is our bad days are ephemeral whereas celebrities' bad days are immortalized and magnified to satisfy our craving for destroying the very thing we've built. JeffSwift 314
hahahahaha it's intriguing to me that when these same stories come out about Gaga y'all write disertations about how they can't be true. But when a random friend of a friends aunts brothers friends security guard friend says that she's rude y'all believe it. EMBAR!
Xoxo Adriana 15,040
Inb4 Bad Blood is actually a self-dedicated song and not a Katy perry diss omg you should've started your thread with "...are you ready for it?"
