The possible nominations include: 1. Humble, Kendrick Lamar - Rap 2. Shape of You, Ed Sheeran - Pop 3. Million Reasons, Lady Gaga - Pop 4. Believer, Imagine Dragons -Rock 5. 18012738255 , Logic ft. Alessia Cara - Rap Other Possibilities: That's What I Like, Bruno Mars - R&B/ Pop Say You Won't Let Go, James Arthur - Pop Sign of The Times, Harry Styles - Pop Second, SOTY is a general field, which means voters come from every genre. Million Reasons is written by Lady Gaga, who is a pop favourite. Hillary Lindsey will more than likely attract the country voters. Let's not forget Mark Ronson is an acclaimed producer. Third, Million Reasons is the only ballad that is going to be nominated. Grammys voters love a good ballad: Hello, Stay With Me etc. The stripped down sound and romantic lyrics of MR is favoured by Grammy voters.Rap/Urban sounds are often unfavoured by Grammy voters due to the slightly vulgar language, Formation etc. Fourth, while all the nominations above have made a mark on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, we cannot ignore the fact that Million Reasons is the best selling female song in 2017, other than LWYMMD. And that makes it a standout to the voters. Fifth, MR has received great exposure to listeners. Sure, you might listen to Shape of You on the radio every day or stream Humble on Spotify. However, MR is performed at the Superbowl. That itself is enough. Sixth, Gaga: Five Foot Two has gained attention for many, especially recently, which is near Grammys nomination season.
