Not even talking about the "GP" anyway (which you don't rlly know what you're even talking about by saying to begin with)  but the media, which in turn has an effect on what people think. 

Just remember the media backlash Gaga had. Not to mention many people have begun to see past the facade Taylor tries to put on to see who she really is. I've noticed a trend in more and more people having a negative opinion on her over the years. 

I think people who live in the pop world, like most people on GGD, define the GP a certain way, which might not agree with how others view it.  To me, one example of the GP is a person listening to the radio going to or from work or the store.  With radio on scan, a song catches attention, and the person may Shazam it to identify the artist and the song, and may later purchase it or listen to more by that artist.  I don't think the GP reads what the media has to say about pop artists, because that's deemed as gossip or tabloid stuff.  So, in that respect, "the GP doesn't care".  Of course, if it made the evening news of a major network that an artist was jailed or something, then the GP would care.  However, the GP catches the Super Bowl halftime and some award show performances or specials on TV, and along with radio, that's the extent of the GP's exposure to Gaga, Taylor, etc.  The GP may catch that Tudor Watch commercial, but given it's the GP and not someone who cares about Gaga, that person may think "Why is that crazy person busting up a piano?  Oh, that's Lady Gaga, we already knew she's crazy."
