DIC won't affect anything. Like any single thing. It won't affect radio, it won't affect Spotify, it most probably won't even affect iTunes. And YouTube? Not even gonna mention. Love DIC tho.

I don't agree. It's not like we're at the second single of the era. The album is over a year old, and she is already touring it very successfully + it already had a hit single. 

If they are not ready to release a new song, they should release another Joanne single to end the era and to support the tour/bring some more attention to the album with streaming playlists/music video.

If it flops, it definitely won't hurt anyone since the era is basically done and this is kinda like a gift for the fans.

1- It will promote the album and the tour 

2- It will rise the possibilites of nominations at the Grammys

Yeah I get that, I am not expecting it to smash or anything

But if they put it on playlists - it can affect Spotify

If they really did a good music video - it can affect YouTube

The rest probably not, but still if this is true I am 100% sure she is doing it for the fans!
