it's Gaga and Interscope, we can literally ALWAYS complain about certs. Just Dance deserves ha 9x Platinum cert, BTW ha 5x Platinum and MR ha 2x Platinum

I think Taylor and Gaga are both talented songwriters, but they both have amazing lyrics and some damn bad ones. It is what it is. But don't discredit an artist (Taylor) simply because she is dominating commercially.

Lyrics can be simple. What matters is content.

Songs like Gorgeous would appeal to most, it's easy to consume. And then you have Perfect Places tackling similar themes of teenage yearning, but with that added depth and subtext. Lorde writes from the POV of a teenager but is amazingly self reflective.

Poker Face is ingenious. From the surface, it's about sex -  but also about thinking about other people (a woman) while doing it, using card games as both its setting and a metaphor.

Nothing against Taylor. I think she has a great ear for melodies, hooks and writes good lyrics. But it doesn't make me think about what she is trying to say with each album. And that's perfectly okay.

I'm only seeing talk about the lyrical aspect of songwriting. Melodically, Gaga is leagues and leagues above anything Taylor has put out, or any of her contemporaries for that matter IMO.

I mean the choruses of Aura and Venus are ABBA level melodies.

But anyway, I'm so happy at Gaga's plat cert.

yeah that's my problem with tay, sometimes she writes about the same stuff but if you read red's and speak now lyrics and even some 1989 lyrics you will notice that she writes better than gaga even tho she writes about the same things sometimes. I'm not bashing Gaga btw, gaga is a better performer, singer, is more diverse and more creative, why do guys think that tay is a gaga fan?? she knows Gaga is better overall
