I wouldnt be so sure. There is a lot of competition in most categories. Good that Bruno didnt submitted to pop though. Ed will probabably win

almost everyone in here is predicting mr+joanne in the pop only catogaries. http://www.goldderby.com/forum/music/2018-grammy-final-pop-field-predictions/page/13/

with bruno not summiting to pop gaga got pretty much a lock in pop.
I think these will be the pop album noms:
POP VOCAL ALBUM
1. Ed Sheeran – Divide
2. Imagine Dragons – Evolve
3. Lady Gaga – Joanne
4. Lorde – Melodrama
5. Kesha – Rainbow

Song is more crowded but i would say ed+gaga have a lock there.

Sounds fine, but 3 females? I dont know if Kesha s Rainbow will make it. And for SOTY, I dont think MR is on lock. I sure hope so but there are lot of big hits this year. We shall see ArtGagaPop  Lets hope for the best!

this, i think many fans really underestimate her chances. She has critics behind her for MR and mostly for joanne, with only melodrama being the bigger critic favorite of the females. She both has commercial succes, the album got mostly good reviews, she had major events this year like superbowl, coachella, hugely succesfull tour in the US and recently the documentary. All this in a year where females overall underpeformed, Katy failed to have any big impact, lordes album was a critic succes but failed commercially, miley floped horrible with her album and no one was really close to gaga. + she has been noominated for every album (+TITHY and C2C) except ARTPOP and peformed at the grammys 3 years in a row and they like her there. The fact that hillary and mark is on the album should also help her getting votes.

I’m confused by people thinking Rainbow will get a nom. Praying was more or less the only successful song of the album. 

Praying may get a nomination, but Rainbow as a whole?

Exactly. As much as some don’t want to admit it, this album while sure, being something she wanted to do, was obviously a continued course correction. The hole that she had to crawl out of after ARTPOP was not small, and it was going to take more than C2C to climb out. Selling out stadiums? All the prestigious performances and PR? Her chances are probably a lot higher than some may think. I’m sure she’s looked at in a much more regarded light by the committee.

Joanne, while not my fave, is a better album than Rainbow. But honestly, I’ll be shocked if Joanne is nominated too.

well the pop cat is very female crowded. What other album would you think to take it's spot? Rainbow is still bigger then let's say witness or demis album.
