Several black artists started to boycott the Grammys because the only ever won Grammys where they competed with other Black people and it's giving off the idea that the Grammy academy is purposefully segregating artists. Last year Frank Ocean decided to not submit (even though he was seen as a shoe-in). This year maybe Kendrick and other black artists will follow.

I think she won't, she's one of the only Black artists who have one of the Big 4 categories (Record of the Year i think). Lauren Hill won AOTY in the 90's. Can't rihmember anybody else.

Probably finally realised that some songs are payola'd at the top of the playlist for months. Labels are probably all fighting for a top spot, so they started to diversify to please everyone.
