MaybeKermit 4,954
Ok so, ever since I watched the documentary I have a couple of questions. Idk if somebody already asked these - but I haven't seen any threads about it 1) In the documentary she hints (imo) a couple of times that we won't see the 'old' Gaga anymore: for example: - her saying sth like 'I have to stay in this place where I know I'm worth something - I can't leave here' (or sth in those lines - talking about 'Joanne' - during the photoshoot in her garden she says that it wouldn't make sense if she went back to the 'old Gaga' after Joanne, because then it wouldn't be authentic or sth like that HOWEVER: seeing the interludes at the JWT, I personally think that YES she will stay like this 'new Gaga', but it doesn't mean that she can't be "avant-garde" anymore...? Idk... 2) The scene where she talks about Beyoncé: does this mean they DO talk and see each other and just don't mention it?
Ken Zahn 3,117
Inb4 she becomes avant garde and makes C3C and they debut it with tony wearing a bacon suit and lady Gaga dressed as a chicken I'm a huntie and y'all should be one too 😉

Remember that the whole documentary ended at the Super Bowl, and from there on 'Gaga' is slowly returning,so don't worry,we will see Gaga again. And yes,Gaga and Beyoncé still do have contact.Gaga even sent flowers to Beyoncé when she heard she was pregnant❤️

weed 73,858
What was the part with Beyoncé? I don't recall
plasticalice 2,224
I'm certain the next era will be more creative and not as stripped back as Joanne. I'm sure she'll never go back to some of absolute craziness that she was up to during ARTPOP though. I picture LG6 having an aesthetic like The Cure - it's not "normal" like Joanne but it's not insane like ARTPOP.

I think she knows that a second 'stripped back' album as a follow up to Joanne won't work right now. So I also think it will be simple and minimalistic but with a twist
Edonis 28,950
You have to keep in mind that most of the documentary was in context with the beginning of the Joanne era which was at a time in her life where she was very much over the "high fashion" " everyone knows what I'm going to do, etc" aspects of her career. And there's good reason to think so, her team noted that with each era she did, she had to push the envelope more and more and make things more outlandish, shocking , etc. But with Joanne, she didn't want to do that. However, she also mentioned that she still loves the very high fashion aesthetic that people know her for and that inevitably did play a critical role in the Joanne era as well (see every look from Paris/London 2016/John Wayne video). And it's clear after the Super Bowl that she is still going for that aesthetic while still capturing some of the more raw elements of the Joanne era (Coachella, JWT, etc.) So I don't think she's over that entirely and we'll obviously see more "Gaga" looks in the future, it was just not the time or place for that during the creation/release of Joanne. GagaUnderYou 4,981
She is well aware that the public wants extravagant, dance-pop from her and I think she will deliver with her next record. Even enlisting DJWS for a producer hints at that. Joanne was a project that was deeply personal for her, but as an artist and businesswoman, she knows best for her image. Hopefully, she can find her middle ground between her crazy art side as well her more human side. After the Joanne era, I'm sure everyone can recognize that the "Gaga" character is made up for entertainment and there is a human inside of there worth loving. The Super Bowl did instill some of that energy though to be on top, and I'm sure we'll see that in future albums. But keep in mind that Joanne will probably still influence her upcoming projects as well (sound, visually, etc.). This album did leave a very strong impression on her and I can definitely see it playing a role in the rest of her career regardless of the genre/project. She will probably find a balance between the ethereal pop goddesses and down to Earth Stefani personas.
