ReidOne 12,427
The "live" performance of Bad Romance at Tony's birthday was definitely one of the highlights from Five Foot Two. But did anyone else get the feeling that the audio was actually a studio recording? I'm not saying the actual EVENT wasn't live, but I do think the portrayal in the film was live footage overdubbed with audio from a studio. My reasons... There are moments where the vocal and the footage just don't quite sync. The vocal is too pure... it sounds like it was captured in a studio, not from a stage microphone. You can't hear any background noise or "ambient noise" from within the room. It's just pure music. I could be wrong, but just wondering if anyone else felt the same. This is not a criticism - I'm sure the "studio" audio was much more appropriate for the film and as we all know from the live footage that ended up online, the actual live performance was exactly as profound as it was depicted in the film. Johnny Wayne 5,497
Go listen to the victoria secret's leaked footage before the event oficially aired and the aired footage, they did the same thing. There's this incredible thing called audio editing and enhancing you know? I'm the b*tch with the sauce, apparently
Sebs 1,809
probably they recorded it live, like from the mic feed, instead of using the audio from the camera.

ARTBOP 7,433
They used mic feeds and the footage is slowed down a bit to get a "dreamy" effect.

I'm wondering if that is why it seems a bit off. Makes sense. But there is one other thing I notice... at the 47:00 minute mark in the film, you can hear a very subtle sound of her mouth opening/saliva in the audio, but in the video her mouth is pulled far away from the microphone (where it wouldn't pick up such subtlety). The jury is still out for me! I'm not sure either way.

Like I could just be calling my crush to say Hi and the microphone would pick and deliver a marriage proposal idk how. Easy 5,305
If you know Logic a little bit, you know that’s the result of Pitch Flex. You can basically make sure all the notes are at the centre without removing the vibrato (unlike auto tune). That’s how all the artists make their live DVD. I’m pretty sure this is used in 5F2. Illuminati 15,921
I think it was just one of those more professionally recorded moments, so he used mic feed or something

Anderson123 38,401
Well they usually record video and audio separate and put them together in post-production.
