I find it hard for you to believe that she is really a devoted Christian/believer in Jesus Christ. But I also think that we all really want to identify with her, so her vagueness contributes to that. My guess is that more Christians believe she's really a practicing, faithful Christian while more atheist/agnostic/spiritual types believe otherwise.

I think she is religious. She prays before her concerts, and doesn't talk about God/Jesus in a negative light. I do not, however, believe that she agrees with the Catholic Church's teachings, and that is a completely different issue.

I believe she quoted somewhere that she is Catholic, she is religious, she does prays but she thinks religion is bogus and doesn't agree with some of the things taught or something like that.

I think there's a difference between religion and belief itself. She believes in God, she prays to God (Jesus Christ). She's catholic (I assume cause she said it on some of her interviews), but she's not fond of "religion" itself. I saw a video of one concert where she said that her religion is "Pop Culture". I don't know bout that~
