It's no secret that we have an incredibly special bond with gaga. For a lot of us she gave us a sense of family (little monsters) and she proved that DNA isn't what makes you family. I look at Speechless as her way of saying "I love you more than you'll ever know and if you ever left me, it would be so devastating that I don't think I'd ever be able to recover. I'd be so devastated that I would be speechless." Gaga without her Monsters is like trying to breathe without lungs. We're part of eachother ♥️

A bunch of people unfanned her after Joanne. I guess that caused her pain?

She's already taken quite a big step back from her fans. Look at the meet-and-greets, the social media engagement, the physical interaction with fans... compare it to five years ago and it's completely different.

Not that that's a bad thing. She needed to step back. But I don't see how she can step back any more, without completely alienating her audience. Of course she was going to be hurt by people saying she's making up her illness. Anyone would be upset.  What is the solution - she doesn't go on the Internet at all?

To be honest is there a solution? People who care will back her up no matter how alienated she needs to be. Fake fans are the ones who get bitter about it making false claims and stories to stir sh*t up. Lets stop feeding trolls.

It could be a part of it. Remember this is the woman who devoted her whole self to these lost and broken kids. She took them in and gave them a sense of family (by creating little monsters). She loved them as if they were her own. Like any good "mama" her monsters were the center of her world. It must have been incredibly devestating for her to realize that some of the people you loved so much could turn their back on you.

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

Not sure. I think she honestly needs to take a step back from the fans.

Not saying cut them out, but her post about reading comments online saying she is making it up...I think she lets her fans influence her sometimes to a point where its unhealthy.

Did she say that?

Well people do turn on their backs to people they love. It happens all the time.2

Beats having a following comprised of individuals who brown nose her daily. If one can't handle both praise and critique then this may be the wrong profession to remain in. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes but one should learn from past predicaments and improve accordingly. People who buy her records and concert tickets should have the right to express their opinions on social media without being deemed as spreading negativity or disloyal. It's childish.Let'sw up a little folks.

I mean i agree. Alot of people who bought tix to European shows planned in advanced and saved for months im assuming for air fare of they had to go far, hotels etc and some are unrefundable and now they may not b able to afford to do it again in 2018. So i can see why people r totallly dissapointed. Personally, I would never buy airfare and hotel accomadtions for a concert.

I think people are confusing her actions this era and while on tour with her taking a step back. Typically, her people on her team are pretty accessible at her shows. Her mom, her dad, sister, Lacee, security team, etc are typically walking around, and all anyone has to do is strike up a conversation with them if they are concerned.

Her team was asked about it several times this tour, and stated it is a security issue given our current political climate and the issues that have occurred with other artists. You don't have to believe me, I am but a voice on the internet, but this is what was told. That is why I suggest others reaching out to those they can to gain more insight.

She herself stated why she can't pull people on stage, because of how technical it is, and even then, she just jumped off the stage to hug and kiss a fan.

And I am going to point out this specific interview:

She explicitly states that she misses having genuine interactions with people, instead of everyone running up to her and simply asking for a picture. This has been common knowledge (or at least I thought) at this point, that while she will do it, she doesn't like it. It feels fake to her. So it shouldn't be anyone's surprise that she gives people exactly what they ask for with the Backstage Experience. I would do the same thing. Granted, it comes with the job, so she should expect it a little bit, but the more accessible she makes herself to people, the lower number of "real connections" she is going to have.

While it was awesome that she was so close and interactive with fans before (specifically during BTW and some ARTPOP), this site as well as the internet as a whole has confirmed how nasty people can be about her and towards her. She gives a lot to her "fans" only to be told that she is making **** up and that she "hates" her fans.

She literally publicly stated she can't pull up fans on the stage and gave the reason why, and still to this day, people are complaining about it. It is ridiculous.

Of course she is going to read what her fans are saying as this happened though. And hearing stuff like that would affect anyone. I don't feel like she needed to address it, but I don't think it was "unhealthy".

I feel like she has stepped back from fans this past year.

But why do it? She sat on Chatty Man during ARTPOP and said occasionally she will look up and see reviews about the music, but then quickly pulls back because it can be toxic. I personally think she should stop doing that, because from my point of view she lets it affect her work. I don't want another Born This Way album inspired by her fans fears and pain, I want her to sit down and write an album and create work that reflects her and her life, not her fans. But that is just me.

In regards to the unhealthy comment, I stated it another thread and I will state it again. Lady Gaga is a musician. She is not a therapist. She is not a counselor. She is not a Psychiatrist. She is not a Psychologist. Having people constantly come up to you saying how they wanted to kill themselves, how they were beaten, bullied, etc, has got to be extremely taxing on her mentally. That is entirely too much pressure, and the backlash she has received this tour cycle simply because of less interaction, proves my point. She gave the fanbase all she had, and now they have no respect when she wants to be a normal human being and have some privacy and time to herself. That is extremely sad.

Yes, that is often an issue on here as well. I bought three tour tickets, and I am allowed to have an opinion on what I am paying for. If she can't handle that, she shouldn't be online reading reviews. Not everyone is going to be positive. Everyone has different tastes. I preferred her weird gothic imagery and sound she had back in TFM era, and I strongly dislike country-esque music. But here I am. With three tour tickets, because I am supporting an artist. Doesn't mean I have to like everything she does.

Honestly, I never thought about it this way, and that does hurt a lot.

I'm so thankful I've never had any desire to leave her. Gaga's always been there for me. Been around since The Fame and I have no intention of leaving her.

Yessss. I really wish she would stop picking up letters at the show. They are ALL letters looking for sympathy from her and it is weird for the casual fans there to hear such depressing letters. Then she jumps down and hugs the person because she has thousands of people watching her even though she doesn't want to be touched now due to pain. I'm glad she's not bringing people on stage and stuff. It's just too much.

I think people can voice their opinion on the show, of course. Everyone has different views and I think she can handle diverse reviews. She has been told "no" a lot and managed fine. When it's about her personally, that's different to me. This woman is giving everything she possibly can and it's wrong, in my opinion, to push her when she's down after everything she does to try to help people of this fanbase. And so much of her life is public, fans need to let her keep things to herself. People are so damn nosey.

Also, I prefer her dark, gothic imagery and sound as well. I like the a lot of the Joanna album, but her dark stuff is just soooo good. The interludes were trippy and dark for Joanne tour though.

I much preferred back when she didn't talk about her personal life (not that I won't eat up 5F2). I liked that she didn't talk about her relationships, etc. I respected that.

I like Joanne. It's just my least favorite. The style of music isn't what really appeals to me. But it appeals to some others, and brought in new fans, and that is fine. That is going to happen to every album.

I think you can.

it's tough bc if she says she's disappointed, internets like zomg DID YOU HEAR THAT YOU'RE HURTING HER and people can be silenced that way.

also those people are basically calling her a liar and a crook who hates touring and wants to idkwhat- rest? she's not really known for that.

it's not critique or having an opinion. it's conjecture and it's mean spirited. I choose to believe she can perform and just doesn't want to and doesn't care about who it hurts

she answers: part of my suffering is that it's keeping me from touring.. it's disappointing that people are so skeptical

and she didn't call them fans she's disappointed in. these people are really kind of mean spirited. anyone who knows her knows that she has a passion for live performance. this is made up sht from nowhere. it's hateful.

Exactly. When some people see her, they just see "hmm that's lady gaga. If I get a picture with her, I can get X amount of likes on Instagram, Twitter, etc". That's just so wrong in my opinion. She has so much more to offer than just her image.

Deep down she'll always be "mama monster" who just wants to shelter her monsters from everything bad in the world. To be perfectly honest, I loved when it was just us monsters because we had little inside jokes between us and it truly was about gaga bonding with her monsters. Now that there's more casual fans, it's awkward in a way because there isn't that deep bond. The casual fans don't know the story of how little monsters came to be (it was a place for the lost/broken kids to be loved for who they are) or what the monster paw symbolizes. They don't know what "mother monster" means.

If I want to meet her again one day, I won't ask for a picture (didn't ask the first time, however that was also a unique situation in general). I would undoubtedly be with a friend who would be snapping pics of the encounter anyway, so there is that.

I would just want to talk to her, and respect how she feels. A conversation is more important to me than a photo.
