Yelir 573
Am I the only one who actually thinks it looks really good? I mean the opening is quite electrifying. This is how a concert should be opened.
Sunday 2,183
I adore the opening but I'm pressed about how she only performed about a quarter of Witness (song). (here comes the inevitable comparison ) JWT is inferior on the opening compared to WT since nothing really hit me during A-YO to PI unlike Roulette to CTTR did, but apart from that, both tours have their own appeal; JWT is meant to be finesse and not too bubblegum compared to WT. Gaga has the better choreography and vocals, while Katy is known to distract us with undeniably spectacular visuals. Both of them are entertaining on their own way. I still like JWT better though because I'm always sold to better choreography. Also, I noticed how Gaga has more crowd interaction compared to Katy. It made her show more genuine and heartfelt, which is lovely. Katy's a weirdo when she talks, I hope she'll use that side of her a bit on stage. I bet it'll be more entertaining if she does interact more in her tour. My favorite segment was from Deja Vu to Bon Appetit. Edit: I read back my statement and it kinda feels like the props and visuals were the ones that are touring instead of Katy I mean you really can't deny how good the visuals were tbh to a point where it just outshone her
Bat 6,162
I think she worked really hard for this tour. I wish her all the success to make this tour a wild party.

It's supposed to slowly reveal the silhouette of this megastar that is Lady Gaga, that is not something cool visuals or colorful intro videos manage to convey. ChvVolk 2,340
The tour isn't terrible like so many make it out to be. It looks fun and visually pleasing. Not that I would ever attend or consider attending because Katy isn't my cup of tea but let's not make it out to be terrible and "omg she's copying gaga". Setlist seems ok, but way too many "hits". Surprised she snubbed Pendulum and TOTGA. One more thing, does she not do choreography? I saw a video if Deja-Vu and was surprised it wasn't a huge dance number, same with Roulette. All the props are so fun and everchanging, and the lighting its also amazing!! watching this i realise how much dark and bad lighted is the JWT Listen, there is nothing to discuss about props. Katy has to use them to enterntain. But the JWT lighting shits on this.

The opening of the Joanne World Tour was really, really strong, for exactly the reason you say. The beginning of this video was how the opening looked from my seat: https://vimeo.com/234447626 Now I am really hyped for Kesha's Rainbow Tour. I live outside the space time continuum.
