I loved it but even at the Rio olympics was a flop cuz i didn't heard it during the whole month of the olympics

Not sure if anyone told you this yet but the Olympics didn't play it that much because it had something to do with her singing it at DNC which broke the "deal" that it was only for the Olympics :selena:

What was that? It sounds really interesting :lolly:

For the California Drams Tour all the arenas were cotton candy scented. Like they put something in the ventilation system or whatever so it would smell like cotton candy, such an amazing detail

who will love me when the night is over

From the clips that I've watched, it looks to be close to the same budget as last time, but sorry, it can't touch the mega bucks that must have gone into Prismatic. This is expensive but still a knock-off budget version.

The stage is such an Artrave rip-off, I can't even. I don't even have to explain that one.

The costumes were again, clearly inspired by Gaga, especially the black and white polka dot one. They're not as cringey as costumes from Prismatic although the backing dancers costumes during Teenage Dream, I have no words for.

The dad moment was awesome. I love her self-deprecation here: "I need a dad! Someone who's been dragged here by their daughters, so he decided to suck it up and come to a Katy Perry concert!" Love that self-awareness, especially the idea that all these put-upon parents are what are helping her sell extra tickets that wouldn't have sold if her fans weren't so young!

The vocals were bad as usual, but not quite as awful as I expected, even on Deja Vu. I'm sure she'll start to tire after doing this show every second day, though.

But the setlist is mind-boggling - a 15 track album (17, if you want to include bonus tracks) and you only do 10 songs from it? And Witness wasn't even sung in full, so it was more like 9 and a bit! And before anyone says that most singers don't do bonus tracks on tour, she performed It Takes Two at Prismatic, so she's not totally against it. She's only just hit her 30's and she's only on album #4. At this point in your career, you should be performing basically your entire new album on tour, no excuses. It's only when you reach 40+ and you're a heritage act do you have to start relying almost completely on old hits when you tour. I know that Witness obviously wasn't connecting as much with the public so her management maybe decided to lower the amount of songs covered from the album, but wow. Bigger Than Me and Into Me You See in particular were really central to the theme of the album, so not including them was inexcusable. I can't help but wonder if she was too afraid to do Bigger Than Me because she stated it was a song for Hillary support and now she's going to be performing in all these states that majority voted Trump and maybe thinks she might get a hard time for it and wants to keep her audience on side? Into Me You See is one of her best songs of all time, it's sacrilege that it isn't here. And there's songs on previous albums that could have totally fit her theme of "purposeful pop" to perform live - Who Am I Living For?, Pearl and Wide Awake would have fitted perfectly. I'm shocked that she only did 2 songs from Prism. I know that album only had 2 hits, both of which she performed, but wow, her team were brutal. A whole act devoted to old hits was just a terrible idea - it just served to prove how great her old stuff was. I think they probably realised that the Prismatic tour was so successful that everyone who wanted to see songs from that album performed live already saw it, so there's no need to trot out any more songs from that album. And there was a distinct lack of ballads. 21 songs and only 2 ballads (I don't consider Tsunami and Firework to be ballads). Katy always had such a fondness for ballads, so I just don't understand. And out of the very few ballads she chose, she opts for Thinking of You?! That was the most WTF setlist choice by far. And her encore is Firework again?! Technically, she's used it as her encore 3 tours in a row now (California Dreams had it as the second last song of the night and it was part of a 2 song encore, so it technically counted). Bigger Than Me or Into Me You See would have been ideal to finish off with.

It seems like the entire tour was just a great big fun night out, she completely threw any messages of spirituality, politics, maturity, etc. that she promised with Witness out the window and just gave in to the same old formula of goofy fun that she does every tour. She even performs all the usual single choices, so predictable. It's like Groundhog Day. Well, when the budget gets dramatically reduced for her next album because these tickets are selling so bad, I'm sure we'll get a very different type of tour.
