Mr S 8,697
Also these are the biggest pure sellers of the eligibillty period if you include soundtracks and compilations. 24k Magic Metaliica Divide DAMN Starboy J Cole Joanne These albums, plus JayZ, LCD Soundsystem, Lorde, a country album and another indie album will likely make up the top votes. They won't have more than 3 urban albums. Most likely will have 2. So DAMN along with either 24k Magic or Starboy. So we can eliminate JayZ and J Cole and maybe Starboy. As you can see, there aren't a lot of choices and its not so farfetched to predict Joanne.

It's actually not that hard to grasp it. You see although the Grammys profess to reward music based on 'quality', 'without regard to popularity or sales', that is not true. The general fields contain the words 'Of The Year', it denotes that while they reward music based on how it sounds, the contents submitted must have in some way made some impact. And to create impact, the artist needs to campaign for his/her albums or songs, whether through promoting it at high-profile events or producing popular singles. So yes Gaga actively making an effort to promote Joanne is creating impact. Father John Misty has produced widely acclaimed albums but he's never recognised by the Grammys, that's because his albums, in simple words, weren't huge. Why do you think Gaga promoted the sh*t out of Til It Happens to You before the Oscars?
HolyFool 782
I don't think Joanne can beat starboy. Joanne is great but it has volume issues, I find myself having to constantly adjust the volume to hear the low music then all of a sudden I need to turn it down once the vocals come in. Starboy is just so smooth 😎

Anderson123 38,800
Hmm The Fame Monster was an EP and it was nominated for Album of the Year so 24k Magic being a short album would not be a problem at all. In fact, I think Bruno's album was way more successful than Joanne, especially the single "That's What I Like". I'm just saying, don't get your hopes up. I do agree that Starboy, Divide and Damn will be there for sure and there's always one or two albums that were not as big as the others, Sturgill for example. I wouldn't be mad if Melodrama takes Joanne's spot because it is a great album.

ArtGagaPop 61,940
Agree with everything you said I think Lordes and keshas grammy chances are hyped up much bigger then they actually is. I see many even little monsters predicting grammys wins/noms for these two while not even thinking mr/joanne will be nominated for anything while kesha and lorde will. What makes them better contenders then gaga? Impact? Sales? Streams? Commercial succes? Critic aclaim? The only thing that they might have in favor of gaga is the critical aclaim but joanne also got good reviews. Gaga is leading for every other reason. Gaga is also with very good terms with the grammys. She is very respected in the industry for her talent and work and been nominnated every time she could except for ARTPOP and has 6 grammys wins already. MR also have advantages of being a ballad to be nomminated.

Charliie 1,832
I hope Joanne doesn't get snubbed. Just because it's Gaga. But Joanne is a good album that deserves to win awards.
Ada 1,665
Yeah I was a big Bruno fan last year and I was here when 24k Magic was released. The impact was so underwhelming. It's still an amazing album, I think it'll be nominated. I've heard Rainbow and tbh I didn't like it that much. I don't know what is it that people find so amazing about it. I still like Kesha herself and am rooting for her for the reasons we all know, in my opinion, the album doesn't deserve a nomination. DAMN. was pretty boring for me (and I f*cking loved Kendrick previous material, I used to play him all the time for some months) Joanne grows so much on you. I loved it the first time (I still remember the moment I pressed play and Diamond Heart started tearing my heart apart) and it made me a Gaga fan as soon as the first chorus ended. I still cry to it every single time. On a side note, I hope it gets nominated and wins. She deserves it after all the stress this album carried to her. Robinladen 1,539
Chances of getting in imo: 100%: Divide (Ed Sheeran) and Damn (Kendrick Lamar) 80%: 24K Magic (Bruno Mars) 50%: Melodrama (Lorde) and Starboy (The Weeknd) 40%: Joanne (Lady Gaga), Hardwired to Self-Destruct (Metalicca), Pure Comedy (Father John Misty), Concrete And Gold (Foo Fighters), From A Room Vol. 1 (Chris Stapleton) and The Weight of These Wings (Miranda Lambert) 20%: Rainbow (Kesha), 4:44 (Jay-Z) and American Teen (Khalid) 0,1%: Witness (Katy Perry)
LateToCult 40,926
I think Melodrama is getting a nomination. And honestly I have a feeling Rainbow will snatch a nod as well. Some of you may not like it but it was well received and it has a story behind it that I can imagine the voters will love (Kesha releasing her first album after her legal battle with Dr. Luke). My guess for AOTY (and winner) are: DAMN. Divide 24K Magic Melodrama Rainbow (Small name/wild card)
