Marina and the Diamonds announces prolonged break from music

I read it, and it called so close to my heart. Word by word, it's my story. 

Ive been a saxophonist for 15 years. Classically trained, professional musician. I received scholarships, awards, concerts, and local fame. I was a renowned conductor, teacher, and composer. People loved me, respected me, and always wanted more. 

Two weeks ago, I said no to studying at the Belgian Royal Conservatory. I was miserable, tired, and sad. Music was not my passion. It was work, a chore, my depression loomed above me for 15 years.  

People were disappointed, confused, and upset.

"How could you?!" 

"What are you doing?!" 

"You gave up!"

Honey, I didn't give up. In fact, I did the opposite. I made a decision for the first time in my life. I am doing somehing for myself. I want to enjoy time with my fiancé, my dogs, and proceeding on with my Master's in Software Engineering. 

I'm gonna be an Engineer guys. 

Im so excited.
