I don't understand why these companies STILL aren't talking about improving battery life for phones so they last longer than 6 hours. Instead they come up with gimmicks like these animals filters and that 'moving photo' thing from iPhone 7.  Stop with these stupid f*cking things that people never asked for and think about addressing hardware issues that everybody complains about. Seriously, I doubt people will care if their phones get a little bit thicker because of a larger battery. Most people put phone cases on anyway, so what does the thickness matter??

Yeah exactly if they new features were meh but battery life augmented for 3 hours now that would be great progress

You guys just described the Galaxy S8 Active, a battery beast with a "built in" case. It has a 4,000 mAh battery but still maintains all the s8 features, minus the curved glass.

Samsung has had the "Active" line of Galaxy S phones to appease the battery market for a while. The s7 active was a beast too

OT: I've been so interested in seeing what the hell Apple is gonna bring with this phone. Keynote needs to come faster. Regardless, I'll most likely stick with my Pixel. These companies are all worried about useless features, removing headphone jacks, and other bullshit. All we want is fluidity and great battery life.

They were saving it for the 10th anniversary iPhone coming out this year  

Apple leaks plans for no home button in 2015, Samsung does the same late 2016 and eventually releases early 2017.  So you can say Samsung released a phone with no physical home button before Apple, but Apple planned it before Samsung.  I'll take the latter 

But hey, there's nothing wrong with admitting that they like to copy each other.  Although that would be unnecessary since all phones will eventually have the same features and it'll all come down to software and hardware

I had androids before I got my iPhone 6; I like the feel and features/interface iphone more. Plus I have a Mac, so iPhone is better compatible. And I'm planning on getting Apple TV.
