When I saw the title thread I couldn't believe we just got some new material!

The next record is coming :)

The song is so good - it's tragic and tearful and gloomy, but it's really deep and sincere.

The lyrics, in my opinion, are really innovative: she moves away from being "academical" and is experimenting, taking risks, using new structures and lets us in her mind. She sound really sincere.

I think it should be included in her next album - it may be musically different, but it suits the concept so well.

And I think, actually, that this song is not only influenced by Princess Diana - when I heard it, it immediately reminded me of Whitney and Amy.

Remember how Gaga didn't say much about their tragic deaths? Well, I sort of had a feeling that she is going to speak on Whitney and Amy passing away on her new record, since both women were important for her.

Yeah I totally think it could have influenced her. Like just a big combo of these artists tragic deaths (Marilyn, Whitney, Amy) and obviously Dianna.

I'm not that keen to be honest - I know it's an unpopular opinion but I just don't like ballad/slow songs. I sometimes wish Gaga made more use of the piano range.

It's not completely focused on Diana's death and Diana herself. She talks about death and suicide. Suicide in a swimming pool I'm pretty sure. I haven't yet worked out what the song is all about, but it's not all about Diana.

OMGGG maybe suicide in a swimming pool is a reference to sunset boulevard? the crazy movie star threatens to kill herself. but then shoots the screen writer and he ends up dead in a pool of her mansion or something like that.

I'm thinking she probably wrote this sometime around May last year, I see the royal wedding as a big point of inspiration for this song.

I want Gaga+piano version and dance-song version to the album  I love this part of LOTR:

Ten steps and roses on the tree

Ten steps and lonely nights, but you still got me

On the road, road paved in gold
