She doesnt need to dumb down her music to make a pop smash and there are tons of examples.

I love The Cure (and very unpopular opinion), but I think it's one of best songs. Yeah, it's very "basic" in the sense that it does sound like pretty much every other song on the radio, but it's a good f*cking song.

From a business standpoint, I think it will influence her label's want for her to do an album like The Cure. Even with little to no promo, the song did relatively well, and from a business standpoint, that's great. So, I have a feeling that her label will push her a little bit in that direction.

But, Gaga is a very independent and headstrong woman. The Cure doesn't sound like it was "Gaga" to me. When I think of Gaga, sonically speaking, I think of electronic pop music, but also rock and jazz, which I feel like are going to have more influences are on future albums from now on, and I'd love that.

Even though jazz isn't my favorite genre, I recently listened to Cheek to Cheek again, and that collaboration album with Tony is just so good, it really grew on me.

Then again, we can never predict what Gaga is going to do. I mean, I don't think any one of us knew that she was going to come out with a country/folk inspired album for LG5.
