n0ne 13,105
This randomly popped up in my head; the fact that there is hardly any male R&B collabs. You'll see a male R&B artist collab with a female/male rapper or a female R&B/Pop artist but rarely see a collab between 2 male R&B artists. Why is that? Do you think it's because male R&B artists have this sense of hyper masculinity they want to protect and showcase; And are worried about a perception of them that could from singing on track with another man? Could it derive from what The Weeknd said,"All these R&B ni**** be so lame"? The fact that male R&B singers are known to feud with each other and dislike each other. So they don't really work with each other because most of the time they think other male R&B artists are wack? Or do you think it's something else? "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"

FfFfFfFF 54,893
Stereotypically black male singers are associted with hip hop and black women with R&B so I don't think there are a lot of R&B males (and even so the majority of them could be a hip hip - R&B crossover). On the other hand collabs between hip hop guys are common.

LuvitLevit 639
I believe it's newer males in R&b. This was not the case in the 90s and early to mid 00s. We had more r&b collaborations, like Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill, and 112 and Usher, and so on. Perhaps it's generational, but it will come back. I miss it too. Jenny Review 67
Simply because pop music is dead and urban is taking over ! so now every pop artist wants a rapper or an R&B singer for radio play in the past years R&B acts were influenced by pop like beyoncé and rihanna and chris brown So now every R&B singer wants a rapper for the same reason or trying more urban stuff http://musiczonereview.over-blog.com/
