She was never "big" in the first place

If you asked most of the GP if they liked Lorde most or many would prolly ask who?

Until you play the song Royals then theyre like oh I remember that song.

I guess you have been living under a rock and missed the Holy Grail which is Pure Heroine :madge:

Miracle

Not with the HUGE critical acclaim she's got.

Not when Melodrama is the best album of 2017. Even indie critics agree.

Not when Green Light, despite its "incorrect songwriting", was more succesful than most of the songs Max Martin "perfect pop songwriter" has released this year.

No tea, no shade, but the only success that Lorde has ever had was Royals.

i'd love to get a 91 out of 100 on MC and be considered a flop :rip:

Melodrama is easily one of the best albums of 2017, you can just sense the inspiration within the music and the lyrics are amazing

Lorde is clearly not a mainstream artist anymore and she's more than okay with that, since she pulled herself out of the mainstream on purpose to write Melodrama

She's never been marketed to be massive though. Do you expect a Kate Bush meets Susanne Sundfor meets Robyn sounding album to be massive when the trend is Justin Bieber

I bet Lorde never expected the fame she got during Royals, she's young, she's an international superstar and most importantly she's still herself. She was never forced to dress differently or to release albums every year to stay relevant, that's success and I'm happy for her.
